Description:
Chronology: Miocene 25,000,000 – 5,000,000 million years.
Work carried out between 2009 and 2019. It features a fountain that pours water from Fuente Gorda, and its trajectory recreates the way water flowed through the underground channels from the natural springs to the flour mills. From here, you can admire the Vega, the vast plain that forms the current Vega de Carmona, which was a seabed during the Miocene. It is common to find marine fossils in the calcarenite stone used for albero production. The richness of its substrate and the continuous supply of water from the aquifer fueled the creation of a rich ecosystem and the settlement of different cultures throughout history, from which we have inherited significant heritage.
